   Classes & Seminars Back

All our classes are small (4 to 8 dogs) with a lot of one-on-one attention with help on any specific problems you may be having with your dog/pup.

Cost: All classes are $140 for 8 weeks of one hour training sessions.

Adult Obedience: Our obedience classes cover standard obedience and good manners; we also do some fun things like agility tunnels, chutes, etc.

Puppy Class: Puppy class covers basic obedience and good puppy manners like no nipping, jumping up, pulling on lead, etc. We also do some fun things like agility tunnels, chutes, etc.

Foundation Agility Class: Foundation Agility Training is geared to both the young dog and also to mature dogs who have not done any agility training. Not getting a good foundation is one of the most common mistakes people make when training a dog in agility; it is easier to teach the dog a strong foundation than to try to fix the problems later. Foundation work will teach young dogs. Older dogs also do very well in agility training; it keeps them active and in shape and keeps them acting young.

This class involves directional work (teaching the dogs right and left) and has a strong obedience component (stays, downs, releases, recall); this class will also help your dog to focus. It will also make your dog relaxed around the equipment and desensitized to the other dogs working in the agility environment.

We will introduce the dogs to a two-on-two-off contact, start-line-stays, table down, standing for measurement, tunnels and chute, and tugging with your dog...all things that are excellent for a novice dog who will be doing agility. The things you learn in this class will be of benefit to you and your dog throughout your dog's agility career.

It takes around two years to teach a young dog basic agility. Foundation training gives you a head start and is also designed to make your dog love the sport.

We are very responsible about making sure young dogs do not do anything that would interfere with their physical development; for young dogs who are still growing there is no jumping over 4 inches, we teach contact work on specially designed contact boards....the A-frame and Dog-walk are at ground level to a maximum of 12 inches, and we do not let the dogs/pups get overtired.
